Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters??
Quirk Books, the publisher responsible for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (which has been on or near the top LibraryThing's "Popular this Month" list since May) has announced a new title: Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. I haven't read P&P&Z yet, but I know Sonya and Tim both enjoyed it...
Ben H. Winters, the author of the upcoming Sense and Sensiblity and Sea Monsters was interviewed in EW's Shelf Life recently, where he said:

At any rate, we'll have to see if we can get some copies for Early Reviewers.

P&P&Z? And now S&S&SM? Just how far can you take "keep Austen weird"? ;)
Has anyone done the reverse? Take a classic horror story—Call of Cthulhu, say, and add material to make it a tween romance?
So...did the producers of that film get the idea of John's costume from the Snail Racer in The Never Ending Story?

I can't wait for this book! although Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter sounds pretty funny as well. I'll look foward to reading both :)
Crap, after seeing P&P&Z fly off the shelves at my bookstore, I knew it was only a matter of time. Within months we'll see a bandwagon of gussied up classics until all the obvious choices are used up (Lolita and the Lycanthropes, A Christmas Carol Part II: This Time It's Personal or Lady Chatterley's Lover And The Case Of The Questionable VD... you get the idea). This will last a couple of years and then the market will be flooded and everything will hit the bargain bin.

I was kinda hoping it would be something along the lines of "Sense and Sensibility and Snakes on a M*****f****** Plane" but Sea Monsters are fine too :D
I bought P&P and Zombies and was highly amused by it. I imagine I shall be dipping into this too--I can't resist 'culty weird' books. :D
I think Persuasion and Sea Monsters would work better (Louisa Musgrove didn't REALLY fall off the Cobb - she was dragged down the steps by a kraken!) but I am really, really, really looking forward to S&S&SM.
I'm sure they're fun, but I just can't read these books. I'd never be able to read Jane Austen again without thinking of zombies and tentacle monsters.
