Sorry. Made you look...

Find LibraryThing a Maine employee, please!

We're gonna keep collections hostage until we get a warm body in an uncomfortable chair over here.

Yes you did! Wish I knew someone who lived closer.

But a moose did crash into a car on a busy highway between southern CT and NY. Driver is ok, not sure about the moose.

Being unemployed, I'd love to take either the designer or assistant job. However, I've only been doing graphic design for a few months and I've spent zero time being an assistant (though I'm very handy with computers).

Besides that, Google Maps says Portland, ME is a 5 hour drive from NYC. If the salary were high enough, I could just move to Maine...

In any case, don't hold Collections hostage! I never met them but I love them!

LibraryThing Founder Strung Up By Thumb.

In an unusual development in the hostage situation in Portland, Maine, LibraryThing founder and hostage taker, Tim Spalding was discovered by police hanging from the rafters of a local pub. Mr Spalding was battered and bruised and his thumb may be lost, but was otherwise unhurt. A note pinned to his shirt read as follows:
"1. Stop bad-mouthing mooses, er meece, um mices, dammit elk
2. Release Collections unharmed
3. We only hurt one thumb because you need the other one for the space-bar
4. "No" is not a review".

The note was by an "anonymous coward" but police are looking to question http://www.librarything.com/profile/justjim

Moose eat servers? I'll believe that when I see it. :)

Then again, I should probably find something else to hold hostage until collections are, uh, released.

I would love to be kidnapped and put into an uncomfortable chair there. All I need to move is me and my youngest daughter, and three koi fish (read giant goldfish). How do I apply?

MAN!! I swear that has GOT to be THE dream job!! Working for LibraryThing.... wow. If I had any assurance of an affordable place to stay and medical insurance, I'd move in a minute! Unfortunately, I'm too financially strapped to even GET to Maine, much less move there.

I'm in Maine, a web developer, and love books. If I find myself, do I get the books? I'd help out if you just paid me in books.

I love Maine (see my blog picts at http://starfishsister.blogspot.com/). We go to the Pemaquid Point area every year - about 10 years now. Wish I was qualified but... However, my son is well qualified (see his site at http://adi153.blogspot.com/) but he lives in Florida. He has several long distant clients and he's been to Maine several times. Does that help? None of us have experienced a moose siting though.

What if you hire someone for a three month trial period, and then decide to keep them on? Does this still apply?

I haven't been keeping up with the blog very well, so I'm not sure if this position is still open. Is it?
