March Early Reviewers

This is, by far, our largest batch of Early Reviewer books yet. March's batch includes 46 different books from 23 different publishers, totaling 1,172 copies, available to residents in 4 different countries! There's poetry, literary fiction, chick lit, memoirs, mystery, historical fiction, travel books, cookbooks, history, biography, humor books, and non-fiction books ranging in topics from opera to crime to global warming to the Olympics!

Sign up to get a free advance copy, in exchange for writing a review. If you're already signed up, make sure to check that your name and mailing address are correct (here). More help available in the Early Reviewers Frequently Asked Questions.

Then just go ahead and request books to read and review! The list of available books is here:
http://www.librarything.com/er/list

The deadline to request a copy is Wednesday, March 12th at noon EDT*.

Make sure to check the flags to see whether you're eligible to receive each book. Most books are open to residents of the US and Canada, several are open to residents of the UK only, US only, Canada only, or US or Israel only. Only the flags will tell you which is which!

Thank you for this new batch and sorry to bother you.
Just to let you know that I have not yet received my February book yet. Should I be concerned?

I wouldn't worry yet - the books come directly from the publishers, and some ship quicker than others. Give it another few weeks..

Hi, great list this month.
Can I ask if the book about hebrew, or judaism, could be available in Canada too? Or maybe you aren't the one deciding these details?
Thanks

Unfortunately we don't control it - the publishers decide which countries they can send books to.

LibraryThing,

I could not figure out how to leave my feedback elsewhere. I just logged on and found out that I am not able to add any more books as I have reached the "free limit" of 200 books. To enter more, I must subscribe for a yearly fee (probably auto renews unless I go and explicitly opt-out).

Unfortunately for you, I was not informed about the "free for the first 200 books" limit prior to my spending hours and hours entering the 211 books I could recall off the top of my head I had read. Perhaps your warning was "hidden" or intentionally non-obvious. For me, that is the same as not being informed. For you it is the same effect, I am departing your service.

I have absolutely no intention of paying you for the priviledge of my updating my own list of books. Are you freakin INSANE?! Good luck with your model (ROTFLMAO - still living in the 1990's with your charging models, I can see).

Just to be clear, I have deleted all of my books and intend for my account to go dormant.

Thank you for the great idea. I am saddened you chose to charge the $10 a month. I don't think I am the only client who feels this way. I am just one in a hundred that is vocal about my choice.

Jim

For a response to that comment, posted on ten blog posts, despite the fact that ever team member's email is posted on the blog and there are whole groups devoted to feedback, see http://www.librarything.com/blog/2008/03/all-things-considered-does-librarything.php .
