ALA 2007: Tim and Abby's Excellent Adventure
If you're in Washington, DC going to the American Library Association conference, Abby and I hope to see you around. We don't have a booth, but I'm on panels today and tomorrow:
*BIGWIG Social Software Showcase, 1:30-2:30 Saturday
*RUSA MARS: Harnessing the Hive: Social Networks in Libraries (10:30-12:00 Sunday), with Meredith Farkas and Matthew Bejune
And Abby and I are wandering the hall in our LibraryThing t-shirts (Tim: black; Abby: yellow), meeting people, crashing happy hours, etc.
PS: Come to "Participatory Networks: Libraries as Conversation" 10:30-12:00 (WCC Room 143B) today (Saturday). It's almost blank in the program, but it's a top and extremely interesting guy at Second Lifeāmemo to self: put cards in wallet, not pants pocket.
UPDATE: I posted my "Hive" introduction on Thingology.

I won't be at the conference, but I'd like to welcome you both to Washington, DC. Have fun at the conference (and don't miss Khaled Hosseini's talk).
P.S. It's a simply gorgeous day here in the DC area. Don't stay indoors all the time! :-)
I wanted to go to the conference this year so badly...but I just couldn't find the money. grrr. Have a great time, I love DC. :D
It was great to see both of you this morning. Thanks for the book, Tim. It's already in my catalog with a unique tag. And thank you both for allowing me to get a photo with you. I'll post it on my Flickr page Monday morning.

Hi! I was lucky enough to run into Tim at the exhibits and I'm sure he thought I was crazy, but I begged him for a photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/annahancock/617315045/
Thanks for putting up with your crazed fans, especially me - it def. made my day to meet you! :-)

Great presentation yesterday, Tim! You certainly seemed to capture the most audience attention during the questions. I hope this means good things for LibraryThing.
I can't wait for the new tagmash feature to be available!
Tim,
Thank you for the wonderful presentation at ALA. Your examples were great, and I thought you did an excellent job highlighting the positives and limitations of tags.
And like Tricoteuse I can't wait for the tagmash either!
What is this tagmash feature?
aitch tee tee pee LT /tagmash/
It's slow, which is probably why it hasn't been announced here.
Sorry. Just closed it up. Nice try :)
Tim - Probably not the best place to post this but I was curious if you guys ever picked a winner for the bookpile contest while the site/server was down. I know this is old news but I'm curious. (Mostly because my photo was the one you used while it was down!)
Best - adamallen
