See all a work's tags
LibraryThing members have added well over 18 million tags. Of course, they aren't equally distributed. Popular books now sport thousands or even tens of thousands of tags. Work pages have a small tag cloud for each book, but it only shows the most popular thirty or so.
So I added a link to show all tags for a work. It shows the whole "long tail." It's very long indeed. It's stunning.
Here's Freakonomics with the standard tag cloud:
Click "show all tags" and you get around five pages of tags. Here's a piece of that:
If you want to see the actual numbers, you can click the "show numbers" link.

Thanks for this. It is something I will definitely like to look at for the books I own.

8-)
Thanks for this, if for no other reason than the deomnstration of the versatile "crackdealing" tag!
Tim, this is my LibraryThing dream!!
hooray!
This newest feature is wonderful for the following reasons:
It gives a much clearer picture of each book without revealing the plots! :-)
It will give LT "combiners" a field day!!!
There is still no wishlist.
There is still no read-but-not-owned list.
But hey, we have plenty of time for insignificant improvements, right?
The site gets better and attracts more users thanks to new large features, not thanks to tweaking old ones.
I'd like to disagree with anonymous; if the old features were enough to attract you to the site, wouldn't you like to see them "tweaked" and improved? Clearly, librarything was appealing enough to you to join, even without the "significant" improvements you seem to want, so I'm not certain why you are complaining.
I love this new feature...I'm going through all my favorite books, and so many of them I find myself amused, confused, and even shocked by some of the tags. This is great.
I like the new feature as well, colleen. It's very interesting to see the nuances of each book in the way the owners are creating individualized tags. That had not been apparent earlier with just the most frequently used tags shown.
Is there a way to search for books in my own library, but using the tags that are entered in other people's libraries?
Or is there a way to mass import other people's tags into my library for a particular book (like when I am first adding the book to my library)?
