ThingStore Opens!

We've opened a CafePress store, ThingStore, so now you can have all the LibraryThing schwag you could ever want. And we're selling it at the CafePress base prices, so it's as cheap as possible for you.

We've got t-shirts in different cuts and varieties, sweatshirts, hats, aprons, tote bags and messenger bags, baby clothes, mugs, and more! (You can even buy a LibraryThing thong—will anyone?)

Wear it, carry it, drink from it, or watch it crawl (with your infant) across your floor—proudly!

What happened to cranberry?

Oh, cranberry, sweet cranberry. sigh.

We (ok, me) loved the idea of custom made shirts (in cranberry, of course) but not everyone did, and the more questions we asked, the more overwhelmed we got. How many shirts to order? How many of each size to keep in stock? How were we going to ship them to people? Would Tim and I take turns going to the post office?

Ultimately, we just decided to just go with a CafePress store, where we can offer more products, and not have to deal with any actual stock ourselves. In short, we decided not to go into the t-shirt selling business.

We haven't ruled out the possibility of doing a special order of cranberry shirts in the future though, so don't give up hope :)

This isn't the best place to post this, I know...but I can't seem to post on the Google group (even though I'm a member, as far as I can see).

My problem is that all day today, I've been trying to add and delete records and the changes will not show up. My changes from this morning final showed this afternoon, but the items I'm trying to add tonight are not showing anywhere but the on the add books page "recently added" list. Then, if you click to edit the record, it says it doesn't exist.

Not sure if this is a site-wide problem, or if it's just my library. :( I was hoping to get some stuff entered tonight, as I have a little extra time. :(

Anyway, thanks!

Annabeth. We're working on it. I think the "master" and the "slaves" were out of whack. Basically, if it doesn't show up immediately, it's probably still there. At present, everything is caught up and changes are flowing through rapidly.

Just fyi: comments are broken, sort of. When you try to send one you get this:

Warning: mysql_close(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/tspalding/live.librarything.com/data/savecomment.php on line 60

But after that it turns out the the comment was actually sent.

Would you consider adding a "Thingamabrarian" shirt to the collection?
